You will serve as a Supervisory Security Specialist (GSSO) for the Commanding Officer of STRIKE FIGHTER WING PACIFIC STAFF.
Duties
You will administer security programs at the facility, including management of Special Access Security programs (SAP) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Your will administer the SAP Personnel Security Program, Information Security Program, Information Systems Security Program, Physical Security Program, Operations Security Program, Department of Defense (DoD) Foreign Disclosure Program.
You will serve as a senior member of the facility and function as the facility director/manager.
You will oversee Threat Awareness and Reporting Program, the National Industrial Security Program, Security Education Awareness Training, and Special Program Liaison.
You will be responsible for operations support, scheduling, and leading several direct report security specialist in the facility.
You will utilize available automated investigation programs such as DISS, E-QIP, JADS, JADE, etc.
You will demonstrate communication techniques and skills necessary to communicate effectively on all security matters with all levels of the chain of command in the organization and other Government Agencies and industry.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position requires employee to complete and obtain Security Professional Education and Development (SPeD) certification within two years of date of hire, reassignment, or placement after 18 Sep 2020.
- This positon requires SPeD certification be maintained in accordance with SECNAVINST 5500.38. The SPeD certification identified for this position is: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing, interpreting or revising security methods and policies to resolve issues in administration of special access programs and coordinating physical, information, and personnel security requirements for a facility.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
