About the Position: Serves as a Product Quality Manager (PQM) for munitions and munitions-related items in support of the acquisition planning, procurement, production, testing acceptance and storage of assigned items on a world-wide basis, during the production and deployment life-cycle phase
Duties
Acts as quality assurance liaison at joint Government-Contractor conferences/meetings.
Serve as a Product Quality Manager (PQM) for munitions and munitions-related items.
Develops quality assurance (QA) plans, prepares contract QA clauses, participates in pre-award surveys, and makes recommendations for award on munitions and munitions-related items.
Develop and evaluate procedures in accordance with customer requirements and applicable standards
Review, interpret, and disseminate policies and procedures relating to munitions and associated production methods and provides oversight during planning and implementation.
Ensure uniform application of quality assurance (QA) requirements for the investigation of manufacturing field problems and resolves quality deficiency reports.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 40% of the time.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Reviewing and evaluating quality control/quality assurance procedures through periodic audits; 2) Reviewing written quality assurance (QA) requirements for adequacy; 3) Evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality controls on munition systems; 4) Analyzing data to detect unsatisfactory trends in the procurement and production of munitions systems; 5) and identifying quality control/quality assurance inadequacies on munitions and munitions-related items and request corrective action. The definition of specializes experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/ level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
