About the Position: The Program Executive Office Ammunition (PEO Ammo) is committed to providing superior ammunition to the Soldier. The PEO is responsible for life-cycle acquisition management of all conventional ammunition, which includes integrating budgets, acquisition strategies, R&D and lifecycle management across all ammunition families.
The NH-04 pay band encompasses grades 14 and 15 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
Duties
Serves as the Human Resources Director among the PEO, with responsibility for planning, directing and administering the civilian personnel management and manpower programs.
Plans, develops, organizes and directs comprehensive civilian personnel management advisory services for the PEO and subordinate Program/Project/Product Managers (PMs).
Develops policies, methodologies and procedures to accomplish mission requirements and objectives.
Directs staff in providing leadership and technical advice, guidance and assistance to ensure the PEO and PM personnel needs are adequately identified, satisfied and that human resources administration meets legal, regulatory, procedural, and policy requirements.
Directs staff dedicated to personnel and manpower process execution.
Performs duties to include recruitment, evaluating, training, and mentoring subordinates.
Requirements

- Position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

PEO Ammunition leads and manages the research, development, production, procurement and equipping of lethal armament and protective systems to provide Joint Warfighters with overmatch capabilities to defeat current and future threats world-wide.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Overseeing the operations of a full service human resources office to include developing, planning, directing, interpreting and implementing human resources program policy and guidance; 2) Directing staff in at least 3 of the following areas: civilian personnel, training and development, human capital planning, position classification, and monetary and honorary awards and development of Table of Distributions and Allowances; 3) Providing technical advisory services to senior leadership on human resource programs, policies and initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-03 or GS-13 equivalent.
