This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Electro-Machinist Division WCF. As an Intermediate Electro-Machinist, you will be providing non-supervisory work involving the dismantling, repairing, relocating, modifying, maintaining, aligning, and installing fixed and semi-fixed production printing equipment, machinery and systems used in the printing, verifying, and packaging of US Currency.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the WE-2. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As an Intermediate Electro-Machinist, you will:
Install, repair, modify, fabricate, and replace a range of computerized, electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical, industrial printing processes and equipment components as well as other complex and sophisticated related equipment.
Perform regularly schedule preventive maintenance is performed at the convenience of the Office of Currency Manufacturing.
Locate, install, assemble, and otherwise prepare all production and production related equipment that comes into the facility, often in conjunction with factory installation technicians.
Relocate, or modify equipment. It is often necessary for the Electro-Machinist to dismantle and then reassemble the production and production related equipment.
Uses a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment to resolve product line equipment and manufacturing problems.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
You must meet the screen-out element, Ability to do the Work of the Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out), normally addressed at the beginning of the online questions. To meet the minimum qualifications for this position the applicant must have training and/or work experience as a journeyman-level electrician and/or an electronics technician repairing automated industrial machine controls that permits working without direct supervision on recurring tasks. All unusual situations are referred to a supervisor.
In addition, you must also obtain an average score of two (2) for the following elements for this position as addressed through the online question in order to be considered minimally qualified. Your application will be evaluated in the following areas:
