This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent performs duties that involve technical planning, development, testing,
implementation, and management of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/DATAMGT) at the GG-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzes and defines data requirements and specifications; designs, normalizes, develops, installs, and implements databases.
Installs, configures, and maintains database management systems software; analyzes and plans for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.
Makes decisions on lab scheduling based on events to avoid conflicts and provide efficient turnover between events.
Analyzes the security requirements for enterprise applications available in the C2 mission environment.
Selects, designs, operates, and performs maintenance of the Cyber and C2 Operational Development Division (C3OD2) information technology systems/tools.

- Typical travel duration is 2 - 5 nights, usually not exceeding one trip per month, CONUS and OCONUS. A trip could be longer in duration if required.
- The member is subject to removal from the CSWF position if the member fails to attain the required certification or maintain the certification if already qualified IAW DoD 8140 and DCWF.
- Desired certifications include: SEC +, PMP, CISM, Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security, Wireless, Cloud; Certified Software Systems Lifecycle Professional, CASP, or CySA+.
- This is a Cyber Excepted Service position.
- Member may sometimes be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

You may qualify at the GG-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Applying data mining, data storage, and data warehousing concepts, methods, and technologies;
Applying data modeling methodologies and database management systems, operating systems, and technical architecture to support the Cyber and C2 Operational Development Division (C3OD2) services;
Recognizing interrelationships of multiple IT specialties, new developments, and applications to ensure the integration of IT Programs and Cyber Services;
Reviewing information technology (IT) management to improve the effectiveness of C4 technology in the joint arena.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
