As a Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) at the GS-0201-12/13, you will be part of Retirement Services, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, government-wide directives, facilitating staff educational initiatives, and provisioning resources to agencies for the effective administration of the Federal employee benefits program.
Duties
Ensure prompt and precise dissemination of information pertaining to employee benefits across all federal agencies.
Assist agencies in the effective communication of employee benefits information to their respective workforce.
Engage in outreach initiatives targeting federal retirees by establishing and maintaining partnerships with retiree affinity groups.
Lead or participate as a team member in Information Technology initiatives, providing strategic support to federal agencies.
Qualifications
For the GS12: You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing ALL of the following: 1) Researching employee benefits legislative, case law changes or regulations to provide input for guidance to agencies and other interested parties; AND 2) Translating employee benefit information into plain language through oral and written communication; AND 3) Providing input for training packages for benefits employees. Note: Your resume must fully support this experience.
For the GS13: You must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing ALL of the following:1)Interpreting employee benefits legislative, case law changes or regulations to provide guidance to agencies and other interested parties; AND 2)Translating complex employee benefit data into comprehensible language utilizing oral and written methodologies: AND 3) Developing training packages for benefits employees. Note: Your resume must fully support this experience.
Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-11 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 grade level.
