Coordinates with Field Operations Division (FOD) Cadre Coordinators and Emergency Management Institute (EMI) course managers, determines the training requirements of Region Four personnel, and then schedules training courses to meet training credentialing requirements. Serves as a course facilitator for Emergency Management Institute (EMI) and other field-deployed training courses conducted in Region Four, including the preparation of training materials for assigned courses and activities.

Individual Occupational Requirements Education Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR Experience Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s). Supervising or administering a training program. Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results. Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following requirements to be considered qualified for the position: To qualify for this Training Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Applying theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methodologies of adult education to plan courses or training programs; Utilizing computer programs to support the development of training courses or programs; and Presenting classroom or online training courses or programs to an adult audience. OR Education Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. OR Combination of education and experience. To qualify for this Training Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
