Duties
As a Training Specialist you will:
Serves as technical expert and developmental lead in the design, implementation, and evaluation of training and education programs.
Implements training materials with consideration to adult learning principles and utilizing a variety of instructional media (i.e., classroom sessions, computer assisted instruction, distance-based learning, job aids, and other educational support resources).
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external subject matter experts
Create self-directed web-based training using relevant software.
Reviews content, monitors progress, analyzes results, and evaluates training courses and developmental programs to assess quality and effectiveness in terms of meeting mission requirements.
Coordinates and conducts activities related to long- and short-range planning; program and project development, implementation, management and evaluation of agency-wide incident manager and responder training initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: managing program operations and public health emergency training/educational programs; and conducting needs assessments and evaluation to inform curriculum design, continuous improvement strategies, and policy recommendation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
