The primary purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate weapon system software, hardware and firmware sustainment activities.
Duties
Manages set-up and planning in close coordination with program office, analyzes planning and programming documents to determine nature and scope of project efforts.
Performs studies, analyzes data, prepares plans, reports, agreements, tracks action items, monitors support effectiveness with respect to program management and provides briefings to management when necessary.
Maintains liaison with other government activities and contractors in order to exchange data and information.
Pursues the quality goals and objectives of the organization for the purpose of achieving customer satisfaction and participates with the team to improve products, services, processes, and support to the customer to achieve high customer satisfaction.
Complies with established safety, health, training, environmental, office cleanliness, security, and computer resources guidelines.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying configuration management directives and policies and their practical application; using program management skill to diagnose problems with computer support software; and applying knowledge of program plans and requirements for process improvement.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedure, including configuration management directives and policies. Requires extensive knowledge of configuration management practices, their practical application, status accounting procedures and formulation of the necessary management disciplines.
2. Skill to organize and manage assets. Requires extensive knowledge of documentation identification, indexing, filing and control.
3. Skill in diagnosing problems with "in house" computer support software (i.e database tools) and programs management skills.
4. Extensive knowledge of process improvement and configuration management requirements as well as program plans and requirements.
5. Ability in maintaining a positive working relationship with various organizations with funding and equipment resource needs.
6. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiates complex issues; and maintains good working relationships with all individuals and organizations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office/maintenance shop/laboratory setting where basic safety precautions are required. The incumbent is required to work occasionally in an industrial setting with occasional trips to contractor and DoD facilities.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
