Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Student Trainee (Administrative), you will use your knowledge of and experience with Department of Health and Human Services, Immediate Office of the Secretary to optimize business results and customer experience by: Preparing correspondence, reports, graphs/charts, forms and other office support materials using office automation equipment and appropriate software Responding to inquiries concerning projects and activities researchers information requested and provides that information as required. Performing analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of the program receives Maintaining effective correspondence routing and tracking system to improve information flow and ensure that deadlines are met

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: Be in good academic standing and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA (cumulative) for an undergraduate degree program or at least a 3.0 GPA in a professional master's degree program. AND must also meet one of the following: GS-7 Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education. One full academic year of graduate is the number of credit hours determined by the college, university, or school to represent 1 year of full-time study. OR Have a bachelor's degree and meet Superior Academic Achievement (SAA). S.A.A. is based one one of the following (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)-- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society -- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Pathways Internship Eligibility:

Be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate on a full or half-time basis.

NOTE: You MUST provide proof that you are currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in the next academic term on a full-time or part-time basis.

Special Instructions for Foreign Education: If you are using education completed at foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by an accredited private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
