You will serve as a Non-Nuclear Electrical/Electronics Continuing Training/Development Manager in the Electrical/Electronics Shop (Code 950), Production resources Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will review, approve and direct work operations in the execution of a project within an assigned zone of work. You will coordinate and modify work plans to integrate systems and work in other zones. You will assign work on the consideration of priority, project requirements, task difficulty and employee capabilities. You will investigate and analyze practices and problems to initiate effective improvements and solutions. You will determine resolution for operational and maintenance problems with the shipyard and ship's personnel.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience resolving operations and maintenance problems to include modifying and integrating systems and work zones; Experience managing projects and work packages to meet organizational goals; Experience overseeing/managing project expenses and monitoring/responding to changes to keep projects on track; Experience approving training schedules and allocation of facilities and equipment.
