You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/ INFOSEC) in the INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, N6 DEPARTMENT of COMMANDER, NAVY REGION NORTHWEST.

Duties

Manage account access to systems by controlling user access to the databases. Develop problem tracking databases for trend analysis. Investigate existing information technology (IT) systems to identify potential issues. Develop maintenance manuals for information technology (IT) system users.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area within 6 months of appointment.
  • Employee must obtain and maintain the required certification(s) in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M, December 19, 2005 and subsequence policy updates. New hires must obtain certification(s) within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Integrating security and fire alarm system components into regional computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems. 2) Developing data, maintaining an enterprise spatial database, and operating associated application services to support Commander, Navy Regional Northwest's regional dispatch center. 3) Perform all aspects of multiple alarm system administrator duties, including; managing end-to-end information transfer, establishing connections from alarm panels, receivers, edge computing environments, and facilitating data ingestion into regional computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems. 4) Develop and update core alarm data for Navy installations and maintain client/server applications for routing and mapping services. 5) Support the CAD by developing, integrating, storing, analyzing, and sharing alarm system information to meet situational awareness requirements.
