This Logistics Management Specialist position is located at the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) and E-2/C-2 Fleet Support Team (FST), within the Maintenance Branch in San Diego, CA.

Duties

You will be responsible for the logistics functions associated with managing assigned aircraft and associated systems. You will provide expert consultation to the Fleet Support Team (FST) Air Vehicle or Avionics Project Team Lead, as well as the NAVAIR PMA and Integrated Program Team (IPT) Leads on matters relating to logistics support of assigned aviation systems. You will interpret and understand the planning, implementation, and execution of modification programs and maintenance programs. You will research and provide feedback and recommendations to the FST Air Vehicle or Avionics Project Team Lead on systemic logistics issues affecting assigned aircraft and associated systems.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-11 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-09 Grade Level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector. Examples of Specialized Experience include: (1) Applying the broad theories and principles of Logistics Management to sustain major aviation systems through production; (2) Participate in managing, interpreting, and applying Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) policies and processes to aviation systems; (3) Demonstrated working knowledge of naval aviation maintenance policies and practices, and the operation and maintenance environment to which naval aviation systems are exposed; (4) Reviewing program objectives to assist in identifying and correcting logistics support deficiencies; (5) Functioning as a technical consultant on matters relating to logistics support of assigned weapon systems; and (6) Assisting team lead in by providing guidance to integrated team members in the accomplishment of work and to resolve problems and deliver cost-effective logistics products. Or You have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that is related to position being filled. Or You have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree that is related to position being filled. Or You have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. Or You have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. To qualify for the GS-12 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-11 Grade Level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the federal service or equivalent in the private or public sector. Examples of Specialized Experience include: (1) Applying the complex theories and principles of Logistics Management to sustain major aviation systems through production; (2) Managing, interpreting, and applying comprehensive Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Integrated Product Support (IPS) policies and processes to aviation systems; (3) Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of naval aviation maintenance policies and practices, and the operation and maintenance environment to which naval aviation systems are exposed; (4) Reviewing program objectives to identify and correct logistics support deficiencies; (5) Functioning as a subject matter expert on matters relating to logistics support of assigned weapon systems; and (6) Providing technical leadership and guidance to integrated team members in the accomplishment of work and to resolve problems and deliver cost-effective logistics products.
