About the Position: Manages assigned area through a group of professional, technical, and support personnel engaged in directing, developing, and/or implementing logistics policies, processes, initiatives, and/or programs for major, highly complex weapon systems acquisition in the areas of Logistics Support.

Duties

Ensure compliance with policies and recommends policy changes to fit the requirements of new systems. Represent the organization on high-level boards, committees, and study groups regarding logistics management issues. Interview and recommend selection of candidates for positions, promotions, and reassignments, hears, and resolves complaints from subordinates. Provide high-level managers and military planners background information, planning rationales, and alternatives.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11).
