You will serve as a FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (PROGRAM MGMT) in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will manage, schedule and direct the operations, maintenance and repair, rehabilitation and improvements to Naval facilities. You will manage funds to support the maintenance and repair program, recommend operating budgets, and implement management control policies and procedures. You will provide updates to supported command and Naval Facilities Engineering Command management on all issues and work efforts being accomplished for assigned facilities. You will provide technical support for asbestos abatement programs as mandated by state and federal laws. You will ensure asbestos within facilities is appropriately identified and managed according to environmental regulations and disposed of to meet mission requirements.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing a facility assets management program to ensure compliance with policy guidance; 2) Using construction experience in conducting inspections, construction oversight, and building/plant management; 3) Ability to read and interpret plans; 4) Directing facility repair projects including estimates for scopes of work and identifying funding sources for project completion; 5) Developing and monitoring asbestos corrective action plans; and 6) Reviewing asbestos abatement plans for approval. *NOTE: This information must be clearly supported in your resume.
