You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR in the N7 Department of NAVAL AVIATION SCHOOLS COMMAND.

Duties

You will confirm required training is conducted for the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan through periodic exercising of the plan. You will evaluate curriculum and instruction to identify developmental and training needs of the organization. You will advise school staff and instructors on curriculum related matters. You will use the latest computer software (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, multimedia, and computer based training) for development, delivery, and assessment of training. You will create course effectiveness evaluations for operational curriculum and courseware.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • Position requires incumbent must pass and maintain high-risk screening in accordance with NETCINST 1500.13 series, as outlined in NETCINST 1500.13B (or successor instruction).
  • Position requires incumbent must obtain and maintain lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid certifications to perform water rescues and treat accidents/injuries that can occur during water survival training.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing teaching experience by tracking and conducting instructor evaluations, maintaining, and updating course curricula equipment requirement; 2) Performing periodic required high-risk training observations; 3) Conducting, overseeing, and tracking drills, emergency action plans, and inspections; and 4) Having ability to swim and have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) or an equivalent course. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
