You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (WATER SURVIVAL) in the NAVAL MEDICINE OPERATIONAL TRAINING CENTER of NSTI, ASTC PENSACOLA, FL..
Duties
You will instruct Naval Aviation Survival Training Program curricula as directed and approved by Chief of Naval Operations and The Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
You will serve as the Primary Instructor, Training Assistant, Safety Swimmer, Training Device Operator, Instructor Evaluator, and Lifeguard for the Naval Aviation Survival Training Program
You will conduct Job Qualification Requirements training for assigned staff (civil service/ officers/and enlisted) to qualify as Instructors.
You will serve as Safety Diver for the underwater egress training device 9D6 operations
You will participate in course development and modification as governing directives and/or technology changes
You will perform duties as the Operational Risk Management assessment (ORMa) Director, Assistant (ORMa) Director, and Evaluator for (ORMa) of joint service, Aviation Life Support Systems
You will perform duties as an Instructor for the Naval Aviation Water Survival Training Instructor course in support of the Director of Safety and Standardization

- The incumbent must be qualified at least at the Navy Second Class Diver (NEC 5343} level
- The incumbent must qualify for and maintain qualification for instructing High-Risk Courses as outlined in OPNAVINST 1500.75 series, NAVOPMED INST 3150.2 series, the NASTP SOP, and the NASTP JQR Manual.
- The incumbent must be a qualified Instructor and successfully complete the Naval Aviat i on Water Survival Training Instructor Course, B-570 - 0 1 01.
- The incumbent must be able to perform as a swim instructor and lifeguard.
- The incumbent must achieve and maintain qualifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Skills
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience supervising and managing installed diving systems, diving equipment, and diving operations performed by personnel engaged in diving activities
Experience conducting Diving Operational Readiness Assessments to verify certifications, maintenance, training, qualifications, exams, documentation, records, and evaluations are current.
Experience performing duties as a classroom and laboratory instructor for Underwater Egress, Underwater Breathing, Bailout/Ejection, Survival Swimming, Extended Sea Survival, Helicopter Rescue, and use of Aviation Life Support Systems
Experience operating training devices used for aviation water survival training
Experience evaluating and developing survival procedures for water survival training programs
