The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's (CIGIE) Training Institute (TI) provides learning and professional development opportunities for leaders, managers, auditors, evaluators, inspectors, law enforcement agents, attorneys, and other professionals within the Federal OIG community. The Training Support Specialist reports to the Executive Director, Training Institute and supports the professional learning and development needs of personnel across the OIG community.

Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance to the Inspector General Criminal Investigator Academy Director (IGCIA) by performing a variety of administrative and training support duties to facilitate the activities of the Academy in fulfilling the Academy mission. Duties performed: Prepare administrative and training-oriented briefings pertaining to the overall CIGIE training program and academy-specific programs. Performs various administrative support to facilitate the work of the Training Institute and the overall CIGIE organization such as gathering and posting learning-related content and class-specific information to the student portal and/or distributing it to registered participants through other means. Reviews and prepares materials and visual aids for the program managers. Produce learning events in Zoom/Teams/other technologies (e.g., troubleshoot participant access, run slide decks, etc.) Utilizes a variety of administrative and learning-related technologies to manage, track, prepare, and provide input to work products.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet one of the Minimum Qualification Requirements as noted below: GS-07: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Assisting with training set up in Zoom, Teams, and or other technologies to provide support with participant access; Preparing and posting content program the program's social media accounts; Gathering training materials to ensure inventory is accurate; and Preparing travel arrangements and vouchers for invitational travelers. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. OR Have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, AND meet one of the following provisions of Superior Academic Achievement: Class Standing: An applicant must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-Point Average (G.P.A): An applicant must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on your official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2years of the curriculum. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society: An applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision. NOTE: You must provide transcripts to demonstrate meeting this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. OR Have completed one full year of graduate level education in a field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: One academic year of graduate education is the number of credit hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study. NOTE: You must provide transcripts to demonstrate meeting this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. OR Have a combination of specialized experience (less than one year) and graduate education (less than one year) as described above, that when combined equals 100% of the qualification requirement. NOTE: You must provide sufficient documentation to demonstrate meeting this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification. NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
