Duties
You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/ INFOSEC) in the United Atlantic Region Network Operations Center (UARNOC) (N32), Operations Department (N3) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT).
You will serve as the System Administrator by managing and maintaining internet protocol (IP) services, such as Domain Name Server (DNS), emails, instant messaging, and VoSIP.
You will maintain Active Directory structure, manage accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment.
You will work with a team of military, civilian, and contractor system administrators, identifying and coordinating working assignments, ensuring that all team members complete equitable work.
You will work with other system administrators to assess priority requirements, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of team members.
You will assist in planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified program of record (POR) and non-POR systems.
You will assist with the completion of the System Verification and Operations Test (SOVT), and learn new support hardware and software.
You will ensure that the information security/ information assurance policies and practices are applied and maintained according to DOD and Navy Instruction.
You will implement security procedures and manage/administer security tools.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451/411 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the
work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

Examples of experience demonstrating this competency include: Configuring management methods and techniques for integrating network system components sufficient to install and maintain network software and hardware.
2. -Experience providing tier II/III level support by assisting with the diagnosis and resolution of network problems.
-Experience developing backup procedures and recover systems in the event of hardware or software failure.
-Experience mitigating risks such as installing security patches, running anti-virus or other utilities.
-Experience configuring and optimizing network servers, hubs, switches and routers.

GG-11
-Experience safeguarding systems against malicious code and denial-of-service attacks.
-Experience managing capacity planning and resource utilization ensuring adequate capacity for end-user requirements.
-Experience utilizing network health tools to measure network effectiveness, identify trends, and support fault isolation.
-Experience analyzing and reporting vulnerabilities and providing compliance reports.

GG-09
-Experience assisting personnel in operating various complex network systems.
-Experience collaborating with supervisors to develop and maintain technical and operational policies for management.
-Experience escalating issues promptly to Tier II engineering for assistance.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position:

Completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; OR
Completed 3 full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; OR
Completed a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
GG-09:
Completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; OR
Completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; OR
Completed a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
