About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U. S. Army Forces Strategic Command, G-2 Security Division, Duty Location Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Serves as a Security Specialist (Industrial) for administration of the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) Supports the Research and Technology Protection (RTP) Program and related efforts for the administration and implementation of the DoD policy and guidance. Reviews and verifies the facility security clearance, access eligibility, storage capability of industrial contractors, security clearance for contractors and government personnel for completeness and accuracy. Conducts analysis of contract performance requirements and prepares security requirements sections of DoD Contract Security Classification Specifications. Works with program managers and operators to determine contractor access and controls. Reports controversial issues to the Technology Protection Officer or government Contracting Officer for resolution.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 10% of the time.
• Must be able to obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial period may be required.
