The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work directly for the Housing Office of Housing Manager at the Kayenta Health Center, Kayenta AZ. Such work includes functions necessary for the efficient management of a large department level office.
Duties
Receives, assesses, routes, or otherwise handles incoming and outgoing materials such as controlled or routine correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written, electronic and telephone communication.
Tracks, composes, edits and reviews correspondence, letters and reports.
Performs office automation duties which include reports, forms, presentation materials which may include complex graphs, charts and tabular materials.
Manages the appointment and meeting schedules for the housing office branch housing manager, and those other senior staff members as directed.
Responds to general inquiries and answers procedural questions about organization and common work practices or policies.
Resolves problems or issues of a general nature.
Performs a wide variety of administrative tasks required to support the work of the organization.
Follows-up on and tracks expenditures and ensures prompt payment.
Closely work with finance on apartment short stay employee billing.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
GS-07 Specialized Experience: Performing technical administrative tasks such as correspondence management, office automation, data collection, and tracking information, managing calendars and meeting schedules for higher level staff; serving as point of contact for an organizational unit; and performing specialized office tasks in support of a unit including preparing training/travel orders an ordering of supplies.
Typing Proficiency Requirements: In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants must provide evidence of their typing proficiency of 40 words per minute typing speed based on a 5-minute sample from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates. Certificates must not be over three (3) years old and must be on a business letterhead. This agency does not accept self-certifications. For current or former Navajo Area Indian Health Service employees who left within three (3) years, you may attach a copy of your latest SF-50, Notification of Personnel Action, that indicates Office Automation (OA) next to your position title.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
