About the Position: Serve as the Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) Chief's representative to the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9 and ODCS, G-9 senior leaders on a wide variety of issues related to the organization, the G-9's installation enterprise portfolio, and managerial policies, theories, practices, and procedures governing G-9 and Army programs.
Relocation incentive MAY be authorized subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations.
Duties
Supervise a staff of senior civilian and military personnel.
Develop strategic and congressional engagements, ensuring these efforts are consistent with the broad mission, vision, and priorities provided by the DCS, G-9.
Oversee technical reviews of authorizations and legislative language in the annual Defense and MILCON authorizations laws.
Oversee the G-9 partnership program and establishment of a high-visibility program that fosters Public-Public and Public–Private Partnerships to strengthen Army readiness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 5% of the time.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overseeing technical reviews of legislative language in the annual Defense and Military Construction (MILCON) authorizations laws; responding to congressional inquiries; developing strategic messaging memoranda and/or briefings; and providing advisory guidance on work or administrative matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
