Duties

You will assist the Comptroller in the distribution, monitoring and control of fiscal resources for NSWG-2. You will synthesize financial data to interpret composite results of financial operations to U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC), and other higher-management level commands. You will ensure Navy FIAR initiatives within the command are consistent with NSWC and USSOCOM FIAR efforts. You will assist the Comptroller with analysis and recommendations on budgetary needs of NSWG-2 for all funding matters. You will assist the Comptroller in the development of long-range plans consistent with the strategic vision of the command.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Financial Management Level III certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Incumbent is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:planning, assessing, programming, budgeting, managing, executing, directing and coordinating resource management activities and developing financial management policy and procedures for a command or organization.
