About the Position: Serve as the Program Manager responsible for religious accommodations (RA) in support of U.S. Army Chaplain Corps (CHC). Manage the planning, scoping, and direction of program areas including religious accommodation law, policy, and Army-wide requests.to establish a consistent and fair application of Religious Accommodations across the Army.
Duties
Utilize expert written and oral communication skills to develop executive level briefings, draft information papers, and schedules briefings.
Serve as the consultant within the Office of the Chief of Chaplains to evaluate the religious basis and sincerity of the request, and to ensure consistency and fairness across the force.
Implement corporate decisions, guidance, laws, regulations, and policy into the development, coordination, and management of assigned programs.
Serve as the Program Manager responsible for religious accommodations
Execute Section 2000bb of Title 42, United States Code and DoDI 1300.17 and Army Regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 2 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a term appointment will be appointed/converted into a term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience that includes; providing guidance to senior leadership through policy clarification such as religious support; developing executive level briefings and or developing training on processes and procedures for religious accommodations.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
