Duties
Independently performs tasks in specialized area of psychology and develops new methods/procedures in support of the activities of the program.
Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of the specialized area throughout the life of the project, and incorporates appropriate concepts and techniques into activities/experiments and tasks.
Makes decisions as to the time and resources required to perform the tasks and establishes plans and schedules.
Critically analyzes results of procedures to determine whether data generated is accurate and valid and compares results with previous related studies to verify data validity.
Develops new methods for and collects, analyzes, organizes and records data appropriate for publication and future reference by others.
Orients and trains professional staff and others on the methods and procedures used. Oversees the work of participating sites.
Requirements

Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Psychologist, GS-0180 position, you must have successfully completed a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major or equivalent in psychology.
In addition, in order to qualify for a Psychologist, GS-0180 at the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: serving as a psychologist and independently performing psychology research and tests; determining the time and resources required for a psychology project and establishing plans and schedules; critically analyzing results of procedures to determine accuracy of data; and discussing psychology projects with internal and external stakeholders.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
