Requirements

Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Counseling Psychologist, GS-0180 position you must meet the Basic Education Requirement: Completed 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completed in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology. In addition to the above basic requirements, to qualify for a Counseling Psychologist position at the GS-13 level, you must have: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: managing an EAP Program for a large organization including conducting quality assurance audits and proposing changes to programs and policies; personally performing the full range of counseling services; and representing an organization to a variety of stakeholders. Selective Factor(s): In order to meet minimum qualification requirements you must demonstrate possession of the selective factor of this position. Selective factor: Possess an unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland or equivalent licensure in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
