The primary purpose of this position, Supervisory Production and Material Support Specialist, NH-0301-03, is to exercise 1st level supervisory and position management responsibilities over subordinate employees within the 635 MMG/CPO.

Duties

Exercise 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time over positions predominantly classifiable in the General Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services Group. Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Participate in special logistics operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identify the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include providing direction, organization and leadership over subordinates providing planning, scheduling, material, timely production flow, and support of engine repair shops. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this annoucement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
