You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (RECRUITMENT & PLACEMENT) (OA) in the Command Advisory Division of COMPACFLT HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE.

Duties

You will be responsible for a full range of pre-employment /in-processing to include making job offers, reviewing employment eligibility forms, scheduling physical/security appointments, and answering employee questions regarding benefits, etc. You will perform Human Resources (HR) Assistant work requiring substantial knowledge of staffing terminology, requirements, procedures, and functions to process HR documents, prepare recurring reports and explain HR procedures and regulations. You will receive, review, and screen requests for travel and transportation benefits for employees and/or their dependents to include permanent change of station, renewal agreement travel, separation travel, emergency travel, etc. You will establish and /or maintain various program files, instructions, and subject matter files.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

FOR GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting new employee orientation briefings and answering employment questions; accomplishing pre-employment/in-processing to include making job offers, reviewing employment eligibility forms, and scheduling physical/security appointments; maintaining a tracking system for a variety of staffing/classification actions; and providing guidance on the use of automated HR processing systems. FOR GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing support to senior HR Assistants with new employee orientation and with pre-employment/in-processing; maintaining a tracking system for a variety of staffing/classification actions; and utilizing automated HR processing systems. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of at least one year of graduate level education that is directly related to this position.
