You will serve as a Facilities Operations Specialist in the Facilities Management Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will ensure the all facilities work is completed in a safe, healthy, and regulatory compliant manner.
You will perform regular monitoring and inspection of all asbestos affected processes, management controls and projects.
You will collect and record all program required data and costs using systems such as MAXIMO, iNFADS and ESAMS.
You will plan and implement the PWD asbestos program according to the Navy-wide Asbestos Program Management Manual.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel away from normal duty station which may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be expected to obtain and maintain federal asbestos accreditations. Obtaining and maintaining these accreditations will require both initial and annual refresher course work. Initial accreditation is required within 18 months of employment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and prioritizing facility and/or equipment requirements against mission and customer needs; 2) Providing procedural guidance and expertise to both reimbursable and non-reimbursable customers concerning the requesting, funding, or executing of facilities maintenance; 3 Ensuring all asbestos related facilities work is completed in a safe, healthy, and regulatory and policy compliant manner; 4) Ensuring that available resources (manpower, equipment and funding) are leveraged in a manner to expedite facility sustainment operations; and 5) Conducting and evaluating asbestos building profiles, including surveys and physical assessments of asbestos materials to complete hazard assessments and identify cleanup priorities.
