This position is located under the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in Washington, District of Columbia.

To qualify for 13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS--12 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Developing, analyzing and selecting of appropriate information and presentation of the information in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience. Preparing or editing work products, reconciling contradictions in information, ensuring that conclusions reached are consistent with facts presented and recommending major revisions when necessary. Writing and editing projects require an extensive understanding of the subject matter and knowledge of presentation format, construction and language. Researching and analyzing pertinent laws, regulations, policies and programs, and utilizing knowledge of related information previously released to ensure complete and accurate information is presented. A writing sample may be requested at the time of interview. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
