As a Personnel Security Specialist at the GS-0080-13, you will be part of Suitability Executive Agent Programs, Office of Personnel Management.
If selected, you will be responsible for serving as a decision-maker or panel member in cases involving removal actions and government-wide debarments, aiding in the development of government-wide vetting policy regulations.
Duties
Performs technical oversight of agency adjudications and decisions to refer cases to OPM, as required by regulation.
Develops and delivers educational sessions to internal or external stakeholders on technical matters including procedures for performing delegated suitability functions.
Provides input for changes to regulations or policies and/or drafting new regulations or policies, necessitated by a variety of events such as new legislation, new Executive Orders or other such entities.
Facilitates discussions on vetting related matters to explore, analyze, and/or compile input on potential new policies, operational changes, or technology.
Qualifications
For the GS 13: You must have one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level in:
Reviewing personnel investigations and referrals containing suitability issues to determine if cases warrant unfavorable suitability action;
Writing proposed or final notices of suitability actions; and
Drafting or providing input on policy or guidance on personnel vetting related matters.
Merit promotion applicants must meet the time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS13 level.
