About the Position:
Serve as the Chief, G3 Operations/Plans/Force Integration Branch for the Mission Support Element (MSE), a non-deployable organization, located on Fort Riley. The MSE provides direct support and assistance to the Senior Commander. Provides administrative control (ADCON) and Title 10 support to assigned and attached FORSCOM units located on the installation. The work performed directly impacts a serviced population ranging from 4,000 to 38,000 active-duty soldiers.
Duties
Provide subject matter expertise advice and assistance for all matters related to force integration activities.
Serve as the MSE, G3 integration and organizational concept development programs point of contact.
Coordinate, delegate, and assign force development programs actions to assigned personnel.
Identify functional training availability and accesses training to enhance and develop skills and knowledge of assigned personnel.
Provide assistance, advice and guidance to assigned personnel, other force development analysts system managers, and operational managers.
Ensure the proper integration of all activities required for the successful accomplishment of actions affecting force development programs.
Serve as functional proponent and integration manager of all force concept and development actions assigned.
Manage and coordinate force development programs actions with force structure actions.
Recommend and coordinate distribution plans and priorities for force modernization and development systems scheduled for fielding to units.
Assign, direct and evaluate the work of the organization.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) of less than 25% annually is required.
- May be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
- This position is designated a key position and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes experience developing policy and guidance for force management and force modernization programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 or above.
