About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Supervisory Plans, Training, & Operations Specialist at the 1st Infantry Division - G3 Operations and Plans in Fort Riley, KS.
Duties
Direct the daily operations of subordinate personnel engaged in accomplishing missions to enhance organizational readiness.
Establish position structures designed to ensure optimum organizational efficiency.
Conduct budget and manpower analyses to identify operational areas requiring adjustments to meet mission requirements.
Provide guidance to leadership regarding required contingency plans to support organizational mobilization operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) of less than 25% annually is required.
- This position is designated a Key/Emergency Essential position.
- This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- Shift Work may be required; Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450.
- OGE 450 is an Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report required upon entering the position and annually IAW DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 30 Aug 1993.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
- This position is an inclement weather position and must report for duty during inclement weather.
- Recruitment/Relocation/Retention Incentive may be authorized.
- Student Loan Repayment may be authorized.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Coordinate budget and manpower components in order to prepare for contingency planning regarding organizational missions; 2) Assign work to subordinate personnel based on mission priorities to meet organizational deadlines; and 3). Provide guidance to personnel regarding the required training needed for mobilization and pre-deployment missions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13 or above).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
