Duties
As a REGIONAL CWMD SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Regional Counter WMD Specialist, providing a vital link between forward combatant commands and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).
Provides assessment and analysis of capability requirements needed to counter weapons of mass destruction.
Receives, analyzes, prepares, packages, and presents complex reports of sensitive nature for senior leadership.
Maintains situational awareness of both DTRA's strategic initiatives, and the relevant crises, priorities, and critical events within the assigned area of expertise.
Ensures combatant commands are fully aware of DTRA support capabilities and authorities, and their applicability to current and emerging threats within the area of responsibility.
Ensures stakeholders are aware of high value, high priority items within and without the agency, controlling the flow of sensitive information throughout the organization.
Responsible for navigating the complex, intersecting needs of multiple stakeholders, including government, military, and non-government organizations at the highest levels.

- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance based on a single scope background investigation with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI).
- Must be prepared to deploy and or travel TDY 10 - 20% of the time CONUS/OCONUS.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
- Must be recallable to duty within 2 hours of notification to begin performing up to 7 consecutive days of 12-hour shift work when NOT on leave status.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience with CWMD policies, programs and activities.
Experience with US National Security, National Defense and National Military Strategies.
Experience applying program and project management theory, principles, and techniques in performing the functions of global integration.
Experience communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, to a broad audience of military and civilian professional, technical and administrative personnel.
Experience consulting and using interpersonal skills to advise, negotiate, mediate, and reconcile differences of opinions to reach concrete, practical and satisfactory options/alternatives and solutions/resolutions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
