The primary purpose of this position is to to exercise 1st level supervisory and position management responsibilities over subordinate employees within the 435 SCOS. Directs work activities through subordinates with responsibility for maintaining a current knowledge and guiding subordinate employees to provide advice, accountability, and expertise on a continuous basis.
Duties
Exercises 1st level technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more of duty time over positions predominantly classifiable in the Logistics Management Series. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinate employees, sets and adjusts short and long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and logistics related objectives.
Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals. Evaluates reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepares detailed responses.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise. Ensures subordinate provide customer guidance and training.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Logistics Management Series,0346; w/ no Individual Occupational Requirements for the series in conjunction with the Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have or will have within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement, at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to Logistics; providing technical assistance to supervisor regarding duties; and preparing programs, policies, and activities regarding logistics.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium sized organization.
Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.
Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
