About the Position: This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Liberty, North Carolina. The incumbent will performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical duties/responsibilities in support of management with the intent of accomplishing the administrative requirements of the department to which assigned; therefore contributing to the efficient and effective accomplishment of the objectives of the overall department.
Duties
Provide administrative support for department meeting such as taking minutes, setting agendas, completing room set up, and/or confirming room availability.
Review administrative program guidance, policies, and procedures from higher authority to determine effect on assigned mission.
Assist Health System Specialist with tracking and following up on personnel actions.
Performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and technical duties/responsibilities in support of management.
Utilize automated Human Resource systems such as the Defense Medical Human Resources System-internet (DMHRSi) to enter and retrieve data.
Retrieve data from a variety of software systems to assist in the development of statistical data and special reports.
Gather and analyze data from a variety of sources for special projects.
Maintain a suspense system for all assigned taskers.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting administrative staff with tracking various provider and/or patient care data; and 2) compiling data for reports such as clinical operations or patient care; and 3) assisting with administrative duties such as timekeeping, travel orders, awards, and monitoring of performance ratings; and 4) utilizing office automation systems to create reports/correspondences, graphs, and maintaining records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Hospital administration, Public Health Administration, or related fields such as Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
