About the Position: Serves as a Research Coordinator in support of all research activities conducted within the Graduate Medical Education (GME) training program and the Department of Clinical Investigation (DCI), Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC).

Duties
Conduct patient rounds and investigations to determine areas for service improvement.
Resolve individual and systemic grievances of patients and/or their families.
Provide in-service trainings to staff based on service deficiencies.
Inform leadership of problem areas and recommending ways to improve the facility.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting patient interviews to obtain feedback regarding medical services received; providing health care options for patients and their families according to available guidance; and utilizing automated healthcare systems to manage service performance data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
AND
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
