This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - ACQC/TRANSPORT PEO - Senior National Leadership Communications Office.
Duties
Provide advice and guidance to managers, technical specialists, systems planning and acquisition personnel and user organizations on systems and network management.
Provide advice and guidance on transport technology, satellite, voice, data, video, applications, optical mesh networking and Internet protocol routing security criteria, methodologies, techniques, processes, and mechanisms.
Evaluate and make recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for major agency and interagency telecommunication systems.
Prepare and present briefings and reports to high-level personnel within internal to the agency and/or external agencies and/or departments.
Performs contract administration functions by approving technical requirements, reviewing and approving costs, developing technical specifications, and monitoring contractor work in progress to ensure Agency standards are met.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-14, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Expertise in network management, service provisioning, basic transmission, satellite transmission communications, applications, information assurance, transport systems, voice, data, video equipment or systems, optical mesh networking and Internet protocol routing security criteria, methodologies, techniques, processes, and mechanisms, including installation and maintenance of equipment and systems. Manage telecommunications infrastructure acquisition and implementation programs.

Education
