About the Position: Serves as the Chief, Army Spectrum Management and provides operational direction to Army Spectrum Management Directorate, reporting to the Director Network Command, Control, Communications and Computers Services Integration (NC4SI) within the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) G6, HQDA in performance of its planned and operating missions. Translates operational and policy guidance to achieve unity of effort in this functional field.
Duties
Develop long-range planning, program, and policy strategies.
Manage the development of policy changes in levels of appropriations.
Maintain close understanding of external issues developed in the Interdepartmental Radio Advisory Committee (IRAC).
Oversee courses of instruction, qualitative and quantitative results of Army frequency manager training.
Exercise final authority for the full range of personnel actions and organization design proposals recommended by subordinates.
Interview candidates for vacancies; makes recommendations for appointment, promotion or reassignments.

Telecommunications Manager:
Specialized: One year of specialized experience which includes; utilizing scientific and technological advances in electronics and automation to make decisions, changes, and or develop policies/programs; applying technical requirements to new theories, concepts, and developments to solve communication problems; providing instructions on objectives, suspenses, and general guidance to ensure work is completed and executed timely to meet organizational goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
