About the Position: This position as a Health Technician (Soldier Readiness) performs a variety of administrative and health care support duties for Soldier Readiness at Womack Army Medical Center Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Primarily works days but may be required to work, evenings, rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Duties
Conduct initial interviews with patients to gather medical history and information.
Utilize automated computer systems to maintain health records in a medical treatment facility.
Assist a physician in a variety of patient examination procedures.
Conduct interviews with patients to gather medical history.
Label specimens and complete laboratory testing in accordance with regulations.
Screen medical records for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor medical supplies and equipment in patient areas.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the employee to obtain Hepatitis B Immunization.
- Employees must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a Criminal History Background Check.
- This position may be designated as essential during inclement weather conditions or other appropriate emergency conditions.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
- The employee primarily works days but may be required to work, evenings, rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
- The incumbent must have verification of smallpox and PPD vaccination.
- This position requires a seasonal influenza vaccine.
- A national agency check with inquires (NACI) is required.
- The position requires basic life support (BLS) certification.
- The position requires tuberculosis testing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting healthcare providers to perform basic and routine medical evaluation of patients; utilizing healthcare systems to maintain medical files and records; managing, storing, handling, and/or disposing of bio-hazard materials for a medical department.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, anatomy, physiology and biology..

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
