About the Position: Serve as the principal staff advisor to the District Commander, Deputy Commander, and district staff principles on matters relating to civilian workforce management.
Duties
Advise District personnel on a variety of substantive procedural and policy matters on a broad range of civilian workforce management functions.
Advise the District Commander and staff regarding staffing requirements, workforce resources, program objectives, and problems. Serve as a staff advisor to the Commander and management officials in the recruitment and selection process.
Attend meetings with managers and supervisors to help formulate workforce management plans and strategies. Present clear, concise, and well-structured
briefings that address the designated issue.
Manage the Awards program which includes performance, honorary, service and retirement awards.
Advise the Commander and staff on the Defense Performance Management and Appraisal Program (DPMAP) program. Provide advice and guidance on interpretation of DPMAP.
Serve as liaison between management and the servicing personnel office and coordinate all aspects of the activity's personnel actions with the servicing Human Resources Department.
Requirements

- Incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain an active U.S. driver's license at time of appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising higher level management personnel on financial, budgetary and/or personnel & administrative functions; analyzing manpower data and creating reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
