You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ARCHITECT in the Capital Improvements Business Line (CIBL) of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will oversee pre- and final inspections to comply with contract requirements and acceptance of completed facilities. You will formulate architectural and engineering project requirements in accordance with facilities construction guidelines. You will assign architect-engineer work to junior employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. You will deliver briefings to management to gain support of architectural and engineering project execution. You will develop alternative solutions to architect-engineer (A/E) contract issues by performing cost-benefit analysis and recommending improvements. You will compose technical correspondence to communicate engineering and architectural designs, plans, and objectives to management, technical experts, or staff.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must be a Registered Architect (RA) if applying for the 0808 series. Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. You MUST provide a copy of your current license/registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement.
