The purpose of this position is to serve as the Department's authority for the review, categorization, and issuance of Department policy and internal governance. Policies provide DOJ employees with complete, accurate, and understandable instructions for their day-to-day operations. In addition, a central point of oversight and continuity for developing and updating directives (Orders, Policy Statements, and Instructions) for the varied programs and functions of the Department.

The Management and Program Analyst serves as the Directive Management (DM) Team Lead and acts as guardian of the Department's program and administrative integrity, ensuring compliance with Department rules and regulations.
Perform analytical, evaluative, and administrative duties associated with the administration and operation of the Department's Directives Management Program.
Develop, interpret, and revise Orders, Policy Statements, Instructions, an other guidance documents for the Department.
Conducting or directing projects or studies of major initiates, researching, drafting, or interpreting policies, preparing position paper, and performing high-level policy analysis.
Review and analyze proposed and final directives.
Manage, maintain, and update the Departments subject categorization system for classifying, filing, arranging, referencing, searching and retrieving DOJ directives.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Management and Program Analyst at (GS-0343-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as two of the following: 1) Evaluating records, reports, and existing policies, implementing archiving and destruction timelines, 2. Reviews proposed and final directives, 3) Manage, maintain and update a record keeping system, 4) Developing policy and procedures.
