Duties

You will serve as Director of the Public Affairs Office, USAG-HI with responsibility for formulating the strategic public affairs program for the command and reviewing and evaluating the tactical execution of the public affairs program. You will provide public affairs assistance for numerous DOD and other government agencies/activities tenant on USAG-HI installations. You will maintain a continual awareness of changes to the public affairs needs of the command required by or from unexpected public reaction to a particular training program or installation initiative, incident or event. You will develop and coordinates policy statements, regulations, communications plans, strategies and procedures pertaining to the various aspects of the public affairs program for implementation. You will formulate the strategic public affairs program for the command based on an analysis of requirements of higher echelon and needs of the command.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be required to perform Temporary Duty Travel up to 25%.
  • Designated Mission Essential Position: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
  • May be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.
