Duties

You will serve as the Shore Unit Level Navy Warfare Training System (NWTS) Division Supervisor exercising authority to implement the NWTS process, oversee the planning, direction, and timely execution of the program. You will plan, direct, and administer the work of the division through consideration of staff workload, division priorities, suspense dates and redirection as required. You will develop and refine certification standards, processes, and procedures as required. You will conduct analysis of assessment, training, and certification of mission trends and overall training productivity, and take necessary actions to correct mission related-deficiencies.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge and expertise in the Navy Warfare Training System (NWTS) processes in order to direct Navy Mission Essential Task List (NMETL) and Navy Warfare Training Plan (NWTP) development, implementation, maintenance, and review for units and participate in the development/review of Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) capability NMETLs and NWTPs at other Type Commanders (TYCOMs). Experience reporting command processes and requirements in order to identify impacts of NMETL and NWTP changes on readiness reporting and associated figures of merit. Experience applying a wide range of risk management theories, concepts, practices, principles, rules, laws, regulations, procedures, and precedents to identify interrelated problems, draw conclusions, recommend appropriate course of action, and/or perform a variety of difficult and complex assignments. Experience dealing with personnel at all levels, including oral and written communication, and organizing and delivering briefings to senior leadership for informational or decisional purposes.
