Joining the Secret Service, Office of Technical Development and Mission Support (TEC), Technical Security Division will allow you to provide a technically secure environment for the President and Vice President, as well as other protectees. For more information on the Secret Service click here.

Duties

The selectee will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist in the Office of Technical Development and Mission Support. Typical work assignments include: Assisting with the development of cyber security for assigned Technical Support Division (TSD) missions. Ensuring national and organizational cyber security policies (e.g. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Risk Management Framework (RMF)) are implemented across products. Communicating cyber security policies and other information to stakeholders inside and outside of IT.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. You qualify for the GS-11 level (starting salary $82,764.00) if you possess A or B below: A: Experience (Competencies and Specialized Experience) Information Technology Competencies: Possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies: A. Attention to Detail: Ensuring IT programs are in compliance with cybersecurity policies and/or standards; B. Customer Service: Ensuring products align with customer organizations' missions; C. Oral Communication: Maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and D. Problem Solving: Providing solutions to cybersecurity project or program issues to meet short and long-term goals. AND Specialized Experience In addition, applicants must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties: Applying cybersecurity policies to the analysis of compiled security data; Assisting with compiling data needed to approve systems for cyber security compliance; and Providing policy recommendations to senior staff based on industry best practices and directives. Note: Your resume must explicitly demonstrate how you meet these requirements; otherwise will be found ineligible. OR: B. Education Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks from an accredited college or university. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts (official or unofficial) to support your claim). All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
