This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Financial Management Division (FMD), Accounts Payable Management Branch (APMB).
This job opportunity announcement may be used to fill additional similar vacancies. This position is eligible for up to 4 days telework per week and other flexible work arrangements. Employee participation is at the discretion of the supervisor.
Duties
Recommends the developing and reporting of additional data or new reports.
Provides technical direction and guidance on the day-to-day operations.
Serves as project manager to implement the testing phase of new systems. This includes training users, gathering data, obtaining feedback, evaluating information and representing OCFO's interests.
Develops new and modifies existing internal controls which require study of regulations, laws, and policies to assess their impact on the methods and procedures used by the branch and FSIS.
Identifies issues, shortcomings, and problems, as well as the need for upgrades and improvements and develops plan for corrective action.
Participates in the preparation of new and revised notices, bulletins, and directives.
Facilitates the coordination and monitoring of the accomplishments of the branch and assures that timelines are followed, and deadlines are met.
Requirements

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
- Subject to one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable. New USDA supervisors must successfully complete all components of the required training program before the end of their probationary period.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements (including specialized experience and/or education) by the closing date of the announcement, as defined below:
Specialized Experience: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent as listed below:
- I have managed projects that deal with data analysis and data based analysis in financial systems
- I have created reports to validate the accuracy of financial data
- I have recommended how to correct information in financial systems
- I have verified current processes, policies, and procedures are in line or correct with current regulation and law.
