You will serve as a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the JOINT MISSIONS OPERATIONS CENTER (JMOC) of U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND.

Duties

You will plan, develop, and coordinate requirements for operations support in of cyberspace operations. You will use initiative, judgement, and resourcefulness in interpreting a wide variety of Operations Support principles, doctrine, and policies for application to complex, sensitive, and unconventional intelligence problems. You will analyze, interpret and integrate joint specialized plans, activities, and operations.

• The incumbent may be required to perform occasional travel (25% or less) which may involve the use of commercial and/or government aircraft.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position has been designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DOD Cyber Workforce Framework role of 461 Systems Security Analyst proficiency level ADVANCED.
• The incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in accordance with DODM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and supporting Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

You are required to have information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include patching network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include providing advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures for the integration, testing, operations, and maintenance of systems security. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include providing feedback on network requirements including network architecture and infrastructure. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems; and, conferring with network users about solving existing system problems. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: configuring, testing, operating, maintaining, and managing networks and their firewalls, including hardware and software, to support the security of information and information systems. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level SENIOR, Series and Grade GG-2210-13. Education

At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Some groups in this category, however, may have a positive education requirement that cannot be replaced with experience, such as a requirement for a particular type or level of an academic degree.
