This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - EX/OPNS PLANS & EX DIR .

Duties

Serves as the Director's representative in maintaining, sustaining, and coordinating Current Operations, Service, and Infrastructure-related aspects of the day-to-day activities of the DISA Joint Operations Center (DJOC). Exercises significant responsibilities in dealing with senior officials of other units or organizations, and in advising high ranking management officials on pertinent issues. Provides technical support and guidance to staffs in matters relating to a wide range of information management issues that often extend and apply across major components of an organization. Uses subordinate supervisors and ad-hoc team leaders to manage and direct the activities of civilian employees, and military and contractor personnel who are permanently assigned and/or matrixed from other DISA organizations. Carries out the full range of responsibilities in the absence of the J33, Chief of Current Operations, and/or other senior members. Develops new program initiatives to address emerging technologies with solutions that balance operational requirements with the mission.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
  • This is a Drug Testing position.
  • This is a Mission Essential position subject to standby or recall status to support the 24-hour, 7-day a week operational mission within DISA.
  • This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.
  • Required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. - Attention to Detail - Customer Service - Oral Communication - Problem Solving Qualifying Experience:To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience is defined as experience in IT project and program managements, IT products and service, team building, and developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with plans, policies, standards, infrastructures, and architectures that establish the framework for the management of assigned mission and objectives. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-15 grade level.
