The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a special programs security specialist, providing expert technical advise in the complex area of security for special access programs; classification management program; security violations; security education and awareness training; and security surveys and special programs.
Duties
Serves as Government SAP Security Officer providing expert technical review of classification guidance in complex are of security providing day to day oversight of Special Access Programs. Duties include but are not limited to: classification management, security violations, Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA), special programs security inspections, Information Security and Special Access Program Nomination Process (SAPNP)
Plans, organizes, and directs Special Access Program (SAP) security for assigned directorate programs/activities, its facilities and acquisition program systems, that support advanced or special programs and SCI material, at contractor and other government locations ensuring that all elements of protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs throughout the program
Performs duties as the Government SAP Security Officer. (GSSO) for assigned programs/activity as defined in AF and DOD guidance
Develops operating standards for Special Access Program facilities and provides technical expertise to senior level personnel on interpretation, clarification, and implementation of SAP directives
Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various oversight organizations as well as government customers and contracted organizations. This is not a remote or full time telework position.

- Obtain and maintain Top Secret Security clearance
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
- Travel up to 15%
- Relocation and Recruitment incentive may be available and considered by the organization.
- The employee is required to obtain and maintain security clearance commensurate with position sensitivity code.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
- This position is designated national security position.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert in program protection, physical, system, information, industrial, personnel, operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
Extensive knowledge of organization's missions, functions, and structure to ensure effective implementation of oversight of special programs security concepts, principles and practices.
Expert ability in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the Center Commander.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Knowledge of government contractual practices and requirements for development and purchase of USAF acquisition programs and/or supporting programs/projects.
